Chitkara University signed MoU with the Dept of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation

Rajpura & Baddi: Chitkara University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India for the “National Mission for Clean Ganga.”

Chancellor Dr Ashok K Chitkara along with Hon’ble Pro Chancellor Dr Madhu Chitkara signed the MoU for both the campuses (Punjab and Himachal Pradesh) in the presence of Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti, Govt of India and Dr T G Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and other dignitaries during the event.

This MoU aims to further education, awareness, and building actionable initiatives to help spread awareness on river rejuvenation in general and the “Namami Gange Programme” in particular. The collaboration between Chitkara University and the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation will also focus on achieving academic excellence in the field of water quality and environmentally sustainable development through public outreach activities.

Shoolini University wins research grant of INR 9 Crore under the PURSE scheme

Solan: The Government of India has decided to provide an INR 9 crore infrastructural grant to Shoolini University for funding research activities. The grant is complementary support for enabling the universities to conduct research more effectively and efficiently.

The ‘Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence’ (PURSE) is a competitive grant marking excellence in research performance throughout the country. There is stiff competition among universities across the country to win the grant. They must present a case and have an exemplary record to qualify. Only 40-odd universities in India have been given this grant to date. As per the PURSE grant, 70 per cent of finances will be allocated for modern equipment required for research. The remaining funds will be utilised for consumables, human resources, holding seminars, maintenance, hand-holding start-ups and industrial collaboration.

Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said the prestigious grant reflected the confidence of the Indian Government in the innovative research capabilities of Shoolini University. "Our consistent excellence in research has been widely recognised by various independent and credible ranking organisations.

IIT Roorkee Inks MoU With NPTI For Cooperation In Research & Training

Roorkee: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a Center of Excellence (CoE) for research and consultancy in Supply Chain Management of Green Hydrogen at the IIT Roorkee’s Greater Noida Extension Centre (GNEC).

Prof. K K Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, said, “I am delighted to see that NPTI and IIT Roorkee shares a common vision of making a positive impact on society through research and development. It is encouraging to recognize the need for a close partnership between the two organisations in research and academic activities. Through this MoU, we aim to leverage our strengths and resources to contribute to society’s betterment and address pressing global challenges, particularly in the field of Green Hydrogen.”

SRMIST has signed MOU with La Trobe University, Melbourne

Chennai: SRM Institute of Science and Technology and La Trobe University, Australia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish (MoU) a joint Centre of Eminence to pave the way for collaboration in digital technologies and engineering.

The MoU will open opportunities for research collaboration in areas of mutual interest, student and faculty exchange programmes. Besides attracting industries to invest in innovative ideas, the MoU will attract potential minds and help converge to achievable goals in the Internet of Things (IoT) and allied fields like machine learning, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing and cyber security. Design, development, incubation and nurturing of ideas as business models or proof of concepts.

Vice Chancellor of SRMIST Prof. C Muthamizhchelvan said if faculty members from La Trobe and SRMIST can spend a semester teaching & researching and once they come back, they can create similar facilities. Joint collaborative research can happen this way and it would also create avenues to see the administrative functioning of La Trobe University.

Ashoka University signs agreement with US Varsity

Sonipat: Ashoka University has recently signed an articulation agreement with Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, which allows Ashoka students to apply for graduate programs at Clark University with certain benefits, including a streamlined admission process and financial advantages. This agreement opens up opportunities for Ashoka students to pursue master’s level education in the United States of America.

Ms Vanita Shastri, Dean of Global Education and Strategic Partnerships at Ashoka University, expressed her excitement about the agreement, highlighting the importance of making higher education more accessible for Ashoka students.

Avantika University collaborates with National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti

Ujjain: Avantika University has signed an MoU with the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti. The MoU was handed over by  Shri. Gajendra Singh Shekawat, Hon’ble Union Minister Jal Shakti, Govt. of India in the presence of Dr T G Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

The initiative is a venture of the Ministry of Jal Shakti for “taking a step forward to create awareness in the youth on river rejuvenation & water management”.
