UPES with KPMG to launch New MBA programme

Dehradun: UPES, a multidisciplinary university in Dehradun and KPMG in India has entered into a partnership to co-design and co-deliver an MBA program in Strategy and Consulting at UPES School of Business. Expert opinions and recent reports strongly indicate that there is a rising demand for management and strategy consultants. This industry has been consistently growing at a CAGR of 15-20 per cent over the past decade and consulting firms witnessed double-digit growth even during the Covid-19 pandemic phase.

To develop the right talent who can further contribute to this growth, the two organisations have joined hands to introduce a specialised and carefully curated MBA in Strategy and Consulting program at UPES School of Business. KPMG in India will also co-deliver MBA in Business Analytics program being offered by the B-School.

MBA aspirants pursuing these programs will benefit in multiple ways, including:

  1. They will have access to KPMG subject matter experts through face-to-face and virtual lectures.
  2. Experts from KPMG in India will teach select modules.
  3. KPMG will provide case studies and mentored projects for students to work on real-world problems and gain practical experience. They will be mentored by KPMG in India practitioners.
  4. Upon completion of the program, students will receive an MBA degree from UPES along with a certificate from KPMG in India.

IIT Madras launches “Out of the box thinking” course

Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has started offering a course on 'Out of the Box Thinking' in July 2022. In its first-of-its-kind initiative, the institute is aiming to reach out to nearly one million school and college students, as well as working professionals and researchers.

In this course, candidates will be taught to find solutions to problems by "Using reasoning that is not immediately obvious and involving ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic. In this unique course, such thinking is emphasised through rediscovering the known and unknown facts of mathematics logically with an interesting broader perception of the manner of doing it," explained Prof Kamakoti from IIT Madras.

CitiusTech, BITS Pilani to upskill tech professionals

Mumbai: Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has partnered with healthcare technology and consulting solutions provider CitiusTech to help upskill the latter's technology professionals in data science and analytics.

CitiusTech's engineers will leverage BITS Pilani WILP's (Work Integrated Learning Programmes) leading programmes like M Tech in Data Science and Engineering and MBA in Business Analytics to fortify their healthcare and quality analytics expertise, BITS Pilani said in a statement.

"These programmes aim to help the enrolled individuals (from CitiusTech) to keep themselves abreast of emerging technologies and prepare them to anticipate and address market requirements in a specialised industry such as healthcare," said G Sundar, BITS Pilani director, Off-Campus Programmes, and Industry Engagement.

MOU for rural education – SVERI Pandarapur, U-Group LLC will establish an “Entrepreneurial Center for Rural Innovation (ECRI)

Pandharpur, Solapur: SVERI Pandharpur & the U Group LLC of Silicon Valley have launched an 'Entrepreneurial Centre for Rural Innovation (ECRI)' in the College of Engineering Campus. U Group LLC is headed by Sanjeev Chitre, a serial entrepreneur and author of 'What Not To Do in Entrepreneurship'. The ‘Entrepreneurial Centre for Rural Innovation (ECRI)’ would accelerate the development and commercialisation of quality products/services to address rural needs in India and other developing nations.

“While local entrepreneurs understand rural needs and can find cost-effective solutions that enhance agricultural efficiency, they would benefit greatly from the vision, the experience, and the mentorship of the U-Group LLC, led by Sanjeev Chitre to build successful ventures from them. They can help us produce locally and think globally,” says Dr Babruvahan P Ronge, Chairman and Founder, SVERI.

“We have a fivefold focus for this collaboration. The ECRI will provide handholding support and assistance to potential entrepreneurs in key areas," Sanjeev Chitre, Managing Partner, U-Group LLC, added.

SRM University - Andhra Pradesh organized Embassy Connect with 14 Countries

Hyderabad / New Delhi - Department of International Relations and Higher Studies of SRM University – Andhra Pradesh (AP) organised the International Embassy Connect programme on 16th July 2022 in Delhi. Ambassadors from 14 countries, academicians and many deputy secretaries from the Ministry of External Affairs participated. This program was organised with the aim of building a bridge between India and abroad in promoting higher education programs and opportunities.
