Supply Chain Management (SCM), the field that plans and coordinates the flow of goods from raw materials to the final customer, is a steadily growing sector. Course details

  • MBA in SCM is a 2-year (4 semesters) post-graduate course that focuses on supply chain analytics, operations management, ERP systems, strategic sourcing, demand forecasting, procurement, inventory flow and store management, business analytics, logistics, and warehousing. 
  • Some programs can also have business communication, financial management, business laws, and strategic management as part of the course structure. 
  • Students with a bachelor’s degree from any discipline, with an aggregate of 50%, after clearing entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, CMAT, KMAT, or XAT, are eligible to apply.  
  • The course is a good fit for students with a flair for problem-solving, planning, analytics, operations, and process improvement. 

Fees vary depending on the institutions –

  • Private or state universities charge Rs. 2 lakhs and Rs. 10 lakhs for the complete course. 
  • Premium business schools charge between Rs. 10 lakhs and Rs. 25 lakhs depending on the qualifying rank.
  • Government colleges charge between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 4 lakhs. 
  • Distance education – Between Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 1.5 lakhs.

Graduates are in demand across industries such as retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, transportation, logistics, and consulting.

FMCG and Retail – Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), Procter and Gamble (P&G), Reliance Retail, etc.

Senior-level professionals can earn between Rs. 20 lakhs and Rs. 32 lakhs annually.
