KCG College of Technology, a unit of Hindustan Group of Institutions, was established in 1998 to fulfill the vision of its Founder-Chairman, Dr. KCG Verghese, of 'Making Every Man a Success and No Man a Failure'. The campus spreads over 50 acres in Karapakkam, approximately 10 kilometres from Adyar on the Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai's IT corridor. KCG College of Technology is an Autonomous Institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade. Four undergraduate programs – Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Information Technology (IT) – are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Additionally, six programs (CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, Mechanical, and Aeronautical) hold permanent affiliation with Anna University.

With excellent infrastructure and a progressive outlook, KCG College of Technology strives to produce individuals with high academic standards and social responsibility. It has established 16 Centres of Excellence in engineering, providing opportunities for learners to actively engage in Research and Development. The college boasts 54 granted patents, 85 published patents, 46 filed patents, 13 granted copyrights, and 15 filed copyrights. It has completed research projects worth around Rs. 2.5 crores and consultancy projects worth around Rs. 30 lakhs.
