Integrated MBA is a 5-year dual-degree program (BBA + MBA) that combines an undergraduate business program with a full-time MBA degree.
About the course
Integrated MBA is designed for students who want to complete both an undergraduate and a postgraduate management education in a continuous format.
- Students after class 12, from any stream (science, arts, or commerce), with an aggregate of 50-60%, are eligible to apply.
- Entrance exams for institutions like IIM include IPM and IPMAT. Other universities rely on entrance tests like JIPMAT, CUET, CU-IBMAT, NPAT, etc.
- Duration of the course is 5 years (10 semesters). The program also offers exit options, such as exiting after 3 years of BBA or 4 years of BBA honours, depending on the institution.
- The first 3 years focus on micro and macroeconomics, business environment and business law, business statistics, financial accounting, statistics, communication skills, and organisational behaviour.
- The 4th and 5th years focus on leadership skills, strategic management skills, and specialisations like finance, HR, marketing, business analytics, international business, entrepreneurship, and operations.
- The major advantage is that students need not separately prepare for the bachelor’s degree and then apply for the MBA entrance. They can save time and use it for quality internships, industry-oriented capstone and research projects, and skill development.
Career scope
As these candidates finish their course early without taking a break to complete their MBA, their age, knowledge, and skills are highly sought-after in sectors such as finance, consulting, technology, sales and marketing, banking, retail, FMCG, logistics, and media.
- Roles in consulting and strategy include roles such as management consultant, business development associate/manager, business analyst, operations executive, corporate strategist, etc.
- Segments such as portfolio management, investment banking, corporate finance, and financial analysis in the finance sector.
- Roles such as digital marketing strategist, brand manager, brand strategist, and consumer behaviour analyst in the marketing segment.
- HR manager, retail manager, talent acquisition manager, organisational development manager, etc., in the HR department.
- Operations manager, supply chain manager, logistics executive, etc., are some of the roles in the operations department.
